taupou (daughter of a high chief)
for Aitofi
My mum is the oldest daughter of a High Chief.
She represented royalty, humility, culture, love & loyalty.
In her Father's eyes she was his 'Princess'
To me she was just 'Mum'.
Although she was recognised as a Princess, she didn't live that kind of life.
Unfortunately loyalty can often be blind.
She dedicated her life in raising us kids with the little that she had.
All because she was loyal to a bad situation.
My mum was a woman who went from riches to rags but in the end... her woman-hood, character and relentless love overcame everything.
