imago-dei
for Thelma
She is my Imago Dei (Gen 1:27), the image of God,
the way God connects with me, the way He shows up and is always there.
She shows how loved I am and the intention of God's heart.
He designed me with purpose in mind, to be loved, to be creative as a man, a husband and a father.
In her Irishness, she gives me a sense of belonging as a Maori, to whakapapa (origin), whanaungatanga (to the "we" and not just the "me"), manaakitanga (showing the highest form of honor), aroha (seeing and honoring the essence of being).
